I’ll be honest. The main reason why I haven’t been writing was because I’ve been focusing all my energy into the first Pretty Darn Fit event called Wellness Warriors’ Fair. Although I had to take charge on this one, I was so lucky to have friends and family supporting me. And when I say family, I also mean my Beyond family. And although Manila just got through a storm last Friday-Saturday, and nearly everyone was out for the long weekend, we managed to close the celebration of #OneFitYear with a warm gathering, good vibes and great company.
We had Vita Coco and The Honest Crop at the event to keep us powered throughout the day.
Also with us were several awesome booths.
We started off with an Antigravity Flying Fitness Class led by Teacher Mark Mizal.
After the Flying Fitness Class,Raw Chef and Yogini, Sonia Astudillo shows us how to prepare several easy and quick raw dishes using only a high-speed blender.Raw Vegan Brownies, Chocolate Mousse, Green Smoothies and Coconut Pasta were all served after the demo. Everything was delicious, we couldn’t wait to make our own at home.
And we made sure there were no leftovers. 😀
About an hour later it was time to sweat again. I led the participants to an hour of NT Sweat Sesh.
And each one of them finished strong.
Miss Denise Celdran gave a quick introduction to Homeopathy next. The informative talk gave all of us the confidence to take charge of our own health. Learning Homeopathy allows you to heal yourself and your family from illnesses using only naturally found ingredients. An important thing to consider today, when we are constantly ordered to take clinical drugs as a solution to every ailment, regardless of how minor the condition is.
Right as Denise’s talk ended, the fragrant smell of ginger wafted into the room. Outside, Jertie Abergas of Jertie’s Kitchen waited, ready to show us how easy it is to cook Vegan and Gluten-free food.
Jertie shows us how to make the Squash Risotto that made all of us hungry! While the Risotto cooked, she moves on to prepare the Banana Apple Crumble Pie topped with Choco Peanut Butter Sauce.
Just writing this post now makes me hungry! Look at all that goodness!
And although we really, really wanted to eat the Risotto, we had to leave it to cook as we moved on to the Power Yoga Class. We focused on core strength that evening.
I absolutely loved the energy from the practitioners. It was amazing how strong these guys and ladies are!
We practiced in a Mandala and brought all our energies together at the center. <3
Our very generous partners also raffled out a bunch of stuff to the participants. Some of them seen here:
Many, many thanks to everyone who made this celebration possible. It was the perfect way to close off the celebration of Pretty Darn Fit’s first year! Very special thanks to Beyond Yoga Quezon City, Jai Mala, Jertie’s Kitchen, Tsaa Laya, Equanimity Manila, Homegrown Organics, The Good Shelf, Cake Project, Brown Belly, Casa de Lorenzo, Vita Coco and The Honest Crop for setting up and for the raffle prizes and giveaways.
