As I write this, I am still trying to settle from the crazy rush hour traffic I have just gotten myself out of. Around us, you’ll notice, things get busier and busier each day as we all struggle to keep up with the pace of how things flow here in the Metro.
I wanted to catch a group exercise class in one of the fitness clubs I like to go to, but at 6:30 PM, it seemed traveling from BGC to Makati was not an option. I just told myself I’ll make up for it tomorrow morning. This has got me thinking, if I already experience difficulty in catching a fitness class squeezing a workout in after a long day, I’m sure others go through it too–and probably even more than I do.
And even with gyms, studios and fitness facilities popping up everywhere these days, I know for a fact that many people still don’t find it easy to commit to a fitness plan. Whether what the facility has to offer isn’t your thing, the schedule doesn’t work for you or if you’re flat-out too lazy to drag yourself there to sweat (which is seriously, the toughest part), there is ALWAYS a reason why it just doesn’t work out (pun intended). Who doesn’t want to be fit, healthy and strong anyway? If only things were more on our own terms.
Personal Trainer, Coach Andre Cabrera has heard these woes much too often in the past. And from this, the simple yet genius idea, now known as Fitness Mobil, came into existence.
I’ve trained with Coach Andre in the past and those were some of the most challenging workouts I’ve had. This guy, apart from the fact that he knows his sh*t well, was not afraid to push me. But I couldn’t go to the gym and train with him all the time. My schedule was (and still is) erratic and very unpredictable. Oh, and Manila Traffic–there’s no getting around that.
The Fitness Mobil team has factored all of these things in. You know the cliche “all you’ve got to do is show up”? You don’t even have to, because THEY will show up on your doorstep or wherever you decide to workout. So now, all you have to do is literally just exercise.
I’ve invited my friend, Eileen, to try out a session with Coach Andre himself.
Eileen has been practicing yoga for about a couple of years now but is fairly new to strength training.
What I love about training with Coach Andre is how he backs everything up with science. He is, in fact, my favorite fitness geek. He monitored Eileen’s heart rate to make sure she was making the most out of her workout. The exercises he gave got her in her target heart rate zone–not too easy, but not too difficult either.
The number wouldn’t show because it was too bright out but here’s the gadget he used to check Eileen’s heart rate.
