A couple of weeks back I have been privileged to be in the company of such a beautiful community brought together by a single goal—to move towards balance. And we did just that. I led this group through a yoga class after sharing my views on sustaining a healthy lifestyle. The event is part of the Brew Your Best Year campaign which sprouted from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Philippines’ The Giving Journal. It’s the journal (not really a planner) they launch every Holiday season. A theme is set each month, based on which the corresponding events are organized. Last month’s was Balance, perfect for most of us who get too carried away by our jobs. We get too busy, way too often that we barely even realize that we’re diving deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole. That day was all about taking the chance to slow down and take notice. The studio was filled with such wonderful energy and the participants all so warm and receptive. It felt like we were all just happy to be there.
It’s not everyday that we come across brands who would go out of their way to bring their patrons together and treat them to an event such as this one. One that would want us to be better versions of ourselves until we have more than enough that we can extend our hearts out to others and take our turn to give back. It’s amazing how this mindset is so similar to mine–because for us to be able to give to others we should have enough for ourselves. Not to be selfish or anything, but to make sure you are able to give today and still keep giving in the future. Seeing these photos felt like a huge bear hug to my heart. It has been a blessing to be part, at least once, of this event and witness the beauty of this community filled with warriors and troopers.
Both the regular practitioners and the new ones rocked those mats and allowed the yoginis in them to shine through. Positivity, motivation and encouragement mixed with lots of warm smiles and laughter. I’d say that’s my cup of tea. What’s yours?
