We are not this body. We are the soul and that can never be taken from us.
~Kathryn Budig, UA Power in Pink Ambassador
I consider myself blessed to be part of the 2014 Pink Run organized by The Philippine Society of General Surgeons last October 5 at Mckinley Hill, Taguig City. The event entitled “The Pink Run 2014: D’Feeting Breast Cancer” aimed to raise awareness about the disease and encouraged women to regularly examine themselves.
I was invited by the Under Armour Philippines team to join them and lead the warm-up of those running in the 3K category.
The brand, which was established in Baltimore, has opened its doors to the Philippine market earlier this year. What most people don’t know is that it has been running the Power in Pink campaign for 12 years now, sponsoring non-profitable organizations to help spread awareness and educate women on breast health. A brand built from the ground up with so much passion, Under Armour continuously empowers women and celebrates female athletes who use any form of physical activity to fight Breast Cancer.
Overall, it was pretty overwhelming to see thousands of people running to support the cause. Maybe not all of us are women, not everyone can be affected by the disease but we all have mothers, sisters maybe wives that we all care for and have got our backs. There’s no need to wait for October each year to rally for the cause. We can all play a part in helping women fight this battle.

And please do me a favor. Kiss the most important women in your life and tell them you love them, would you?
