It has been a week since the whole world celebrated the International Day of Yoga and I’m still on a high from what went on during our event at The Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Check out my photo diary below.I was initially invited by SIFCare to take part in the event and be one of the speakers to talk about Yoga in relation to health and fitness. I gladly accepted and was later on also invited to lead a yoga class, which I also did not decline! I always say, “When given the opportunity to serve, who are you to say no?”
We began with a series of talks that discussed the different topics related to yoga: from the practice of Pranayama or mindful breathing to meditation to asanas or postures.
Being the last to get up on stage and talk, I felt there was a bit of pressure in trying to keep the audience’s attention. Luckily, the participants that morning were all very keen on learning and did not hesitate to interact with the speakers.
After the talk, I led the participants out to the patio where we set up for our yoga asana class. We practiced to live music! How awesome is that?
It was an absolutely beautiful day for yoga outdoors.
They were a really fun bunch to teach! All troopers, all very strong and up for the challenges I added into the sequence.
As we slowed down, the sky decided we needed a few more blessings thrown our way and it began to drizzle. We gladly accepted, staying for one or two more poses and all went in to continue the practice inside the conference room. 😀
After savasana was the group photo for the morning session (an afternoon session was held) and because I had to leave, the SIFCare team presented me with a wonderful surprise! I couldn’t be more thankful.
Here’s everyone who attended the morning asana session, sans a few who had to leave during savasana. All smiles and all so thankful to SIFCare for a very well organized event. I was so impressed!
Manila Vegans at the event! I was so happy to see them there!!! We were all happy too for the sponsorship of Greenery Kitchen, Bayani Brew, Kismet Cafe and Gandiva –all vegan and vegan-friendly! These non-meat eaters were well fed at the event. Haha
Part of the loot bags all participants received were these dri-fit Gift of Yoga shirts. Obviously, my girls loved it.
And we wouldn’t let the day pass without taking a photo like this. With grateful hearts, we left the venue. Looking forward to next year’s celebration. Yoga, indeed, is a gift that brings people together.
Watch this space for more upcoming yoga events. Remember that the practice has no judgments and all you need is to yes to its invitation. 🙂
NAMASTE. <3
