I don’t mean to disappoint you guys but I won’t be sharing the recipe to vegan cookies and muffins today. I just had to get it out there! I couldn’t even bake to save my life. I will, however, show you how to get these delicious, cruelty-free treats and even introduce you to the wonderful, inspiring woman behind them.
The beautiful family running Sweet Mnemonic was kind enough to send these baked goodies but I didn’t get to try them until a couple of days after. Of course my sister kept them in the fridge but to my surprise, all of them still tasted fresh, moist and delicious.
If you’re watching your weight, I did mention in one of my previous entries that allowing yourself a couple of cheat meals a week is only fair and just. In fact, I say go ahead and indulge yourself in a couple of “meals” wherein you eat your whole heart out with whatever it is that you desire. And if you’re going to eat something outside your recommended daily diet, you want them to be worth it!
Samantha, a young mom and entrepreneur has been working to get her family to eat healthy for three years. They converted to veganism in 2014 and would enjoy raw vegan meals at home on most days.
Her love for baking and her advocacy on having a vegan lifestyle are the two things that fuelled the beginnings of Sweet Mnemonic. Her baked treats are made with the best ingredients they could source. This includes unbleached flour, organic coco sugar and coco oil, organic vegan milk, Aluminum-free baking powder, vegan choco chips–the mouthwatering list goes on!
“Sometimes, using the best ingredients make the best-tasting products. And using less processed and cruelty-free ones are good for your body and the world!”, she says. But not because her stuff are vegan doesn’t mean they’re exclusive to those who can afford them. Sam says she wants people to know that being vegan doesn’t have to be expensive. Her cookies and muffins tell us that vegans have just the same amount of fun (if not more) than non-vegans.
I, personally, am obsessed over her vegan Double Chocolate Cookies! It was a major struggle to keep my hands away from them and gobbling them all up.
Her cookies are available in three variants, Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Raisin. I mentioned which one was a personal fave but all three were amazingly delicious. Non-vegans would never miss their eggs and milk.
My family loved the Banana Muffins. And considering I’ve never really been a big fan of muffins since I was younger, I still ended up eating two! DON’T ASK. Great thing about it is that a dozen of them costs just about as much (if not less) as a dozen of sugar-laden plain doughnuts. Now you have the option to choose the better cheat treat!
