Let’s face it, it is impossible to completely avoid stress. I work in the wellness and fitness field and I STILL encounter a ton of different stressors daily. It all boils down to how you handle it. Here’s how I do it:
- MOVE MORE, MORE OFTEN. You’ll be surprised how much this can change how you feel. Simply taking at least 15-20 minutes to get off your chair and walk gets the energy flowing properly in your body once again. The big plus is that it increases mental focus allowing you to get to the root of what’s causing you all that stress and addressing it much faster.
- TAKE FIVE. When it feels like there’s A LOT that needs your attention, it’s so easy to get overwhelmed. Take five minutes in complete stillness. If you can’t stay still, you’re going to have to sit a bit longer which is more time consuming so really, drop whatever you’re doing and just breathe.
- INCLUDE ADAPTOGENS IN YOUR DIET. Don’t get me wrong, adaptogens aren’t quick fixes. Adaptogens and adaptogenic herbs take a few days of consumption before you at least start to feel its effects. From the word “adapt”, these plants help you cope with stress easily. My favorite is the Maca root- widely available in powder form. Others such as Cordycep Mushrooms and Ashwagandha also work miracles. You’ll find Ashwagandha Root supplements in your nearest Healthy Options store.
